Configuring a remote server allows Indexes to be exported to other remote CXAIR instances. This is especially useful if Indexes are built on a development CXAIR instance, as the output can be scheduled to be exported to the live environment automatically.

Navigate to the Manage Remote Servers screen by clicking Setup, System then Remote Servers.

Creating a Connection

Enter a name for the remote server connection in the Name textbox and the SSL compliant URL in the URL textbox.

Then, enter the Username and Password details for a valid CXAIR administrator account on the remote server. Please note that this user must have the Auto Import user permission enabled. Please refer to the User Management chapter for more information.

Click the Test Connection button to validate the connection credentials, then click Create Remote Server at the bottom of the screen to save the configuration. Alternatively, click Cancel to remove the current entries.

Exporting Indexes

With a saved remote connection, Indexes can now be exported to the remote CXAIR instance.

To manually export an Index, navigate to the System Overview screen. With the Index selected, click Export then click To Remote Server. Select the required CXAIR instance from the resulting popup and click Export. Please refer to the System Overview chapter for a more detailed breakdown of all available options.

To automatically export an Index, or a collection of Indexes, navigate to the Index Schedules screen. After specifying the Items drop-down list, select Auto Export from the adjacent radio buttons to reveal a Remote Server down list. Specify the CXAIR Instance here and continue to complete the configuration options to export the selected items on an automated schedule. Please refer to the Index Schedules chapter for a more detailed breakdown of all available options.
