Using the Editable Data feature allows users, with the relevant permissions, to edit fields in the front-end of the solution.

Editable Data can only be used with Timeline Indexes.

To create Editable Data, a Data Source, Data Source Group and resulting Index must be configured separately.

Editable Data Source

Navigate to the Data Sources screen by clicking Search Engine, then Data Sources.

Enter the name that will be given to the Editable Data Source in the Name textbox. This name must be unique.

Select Editable Data from the Type drop-down list and select the source Timeline Index from the Index drop-down list.

Ensure the Create Index option is disabled and click Create Data Source.

Editable Data Source Group

Navigate to the Data Source Groups screen by clicking Search Engine, then Data Source Groups.

Enter the name that will be given to the Editable Data Source in the Name textbox. This name must be unique.

Use the Data Sources Added to Group drop-down list to select the previously created Editable Data Source.

Enable the Build Now option and click Create Data Source Group.

Index Options

Navigate to the Indexes screen by clicking Search Engine, then Indexes.

Locate the previously created Data Source Group and click the Edit icon.

Click the > icon next to the Display Field Layouts option and select Editable Table from the Type drop-down list.

Select the fields to become editable from the Display Fields drop-down list, or click All to enable an Editable Table display field layout in the Query screen that allows each value to be modified. Delete individual selections by clicking the X icon next to the relevant field, or clear all selections by clicking None.

Click Modify Index to save the changes.

Using Editable Data

Navigate to the Query screen and select the original Index. Select the Editable Table view to load the editable data.

Clicking a value will allow it to be amended. Once the desired modification has been made, click Commit to save the changes. Any changes made will be written when the Index has been refreshed.
