Through the automated remote monitoring functionality, users can be emailed automatically when other CXAIR instances go offline or reach a number of key utilisation thresholds.

Navigate the Remote Monitoring screen by clicking Status, then Remote Monitoring.

Each remotely monitored server will be displayed along with a number of performance metrics. Enable the Email option to alert previously specified users when any of the values are greater than 90% or a system database does not respond. Please refer to the Users chapter for more information.

To remove a server, click the X icon or remove the relevant IP address from the Remote Monitoring Servers System Settings textbox.

Setup Process

To enable the remote monitoring of other CXAIR instances, first navigate to the System tab of the System Settings screen and enter the system URL in the Remote Monitoring URL textbox in the following format:

<servername>/cxair/servlet/insecure/remotemonitoring

This value must also be entered on all target instances.

Specify the instances that will be monitored by entering the relevant IP addresses in a comma-separated list in the Remote Monitoring Servers textbox.

Schedules

There are two Remote Monitoring schedules that are created once the relevant system setting have been configured: Remote Monitoring Generator and Remote Monitoring Indexing. The first schedule automates the monitoring of the specified servers and is set to execute every five minutes by default. The second schedule automates the creation of an Index detailing the monitoring outcomes, and is set to execute daily by default.
