# 01. About CXAIR AI

CXAIR AI provides a conversational interface for working with CXAIR data and Pages reports. Depending on the selected model, configured provider, current report and user permissions, it can:

* Answer questions about CXAIR data.
* Run queries and crosstabs.
* Find and execute saved reports.
* Interpret attached images when the selected model supports image input.
* Help design Pages reports.

The AI uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to call defined CXAIR operations. MCP tools give the model structured access to CXAIR instead of relying only on general knowledge. CXAIR exposes a limited external tool set and a larger internal tool set for report design.
