## Conversation controls

| Control | Purpose |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Model | Selects the configured AI model used for subsequent requests. |
| New conversation | Clears the current conversation and its remembered tool context. |
| Load conversation | Loads a conversation saved alongside the current saved report when one is available. |
| Data / Design | Changes the assistant's purpose in a Pages report. Data mode supplies report context; Design mode enables report-design tooling. |
| Image attachment | Attaches images when the selected model supports image input and the files meet its size limit. |
| Stop | Cancels the response currently being generated without ending the conversation. Any output already received is kept. |

## Stopping a response

While the assistant is working on a request, the **Ask** button becomes **Stop** and a Stop option also appears next to the progress indicator. Selecting either cancels that request only: response text already received is kept, and the conversation can continue with a new request.

## Conversation context

CXAIR keeps conversation context in the current session. It can remember tool results such as index names, field names and arguments during that conversation. Starting a new conversation clears this memory.

When a report is supplied as context, the amount included may be limited by the model's context window and administrator settings.
