# CXAIR 2020.2

## CXAIR 2020.2

The CXAIR 2020.2 release includes new features to aid reporting and data management while also providing an update to the underlying architecture that results in smaller Indexes that are faster to query.

## CXAIR: New Features & Enhancements

### Apache Lucene Upgrade

CXAIR has now upgraded the underlying Apache Lucence technology to use version 8.6.2.

Indexes built using CXAIR 2020.2 are now approximately **60-70% smaller** on disk than in previous versions:

Searches and reports run approximately 2-3 times faster than previous versions of CXAIR.

Please note that after upgrading to CXAIR 2020.2, all existing indexes are updated to the new Lucence structure. During the upgrade process, additional disk storage is required as existing Indexes remain in place until the new updated versions are complete. Once the new (smaller) Index is built, the old version is deleted.

### Interface Refresh

#### Default Skin

CXAIR 2020.2 now has an updated default skin.

Please note that after upgrading to CXAIR 2020.2, custom skins will need to be reviewed and may need minor adjustments using new options in the skinning functionality.

#### Crosstabs

The Crosstab screens have been updated to match those used to build Pages reports.

Previous tab headings are now replaced by options on the left of the screen.

To run and edit a Crosstab, use the ‘Play’ and ‘Pencil’ icons:

#### Pages

**Pages Grid**

There is now an option to select a smaller grid size to assist with designing page layouts:

The option can be selected for an individual Pages report or set as your user preference.

**In Page Filter Styling**

It is now possible to change the font, font size and font colour for any in page filter.

Radio buttons, checkboxes and drop-down lists now dynamically size depending on the size of the font set.

**Drill to a Popup Window**

An option has been added to the Drill functionality to show the report drill-down in a pop-up window:

**Automatic Cycle Through Pages**

An option has been added to the Report Styling which can now automatically cycle through pages within a report, refreshing data as each page is displayed.

**Page Numbers**

Optimisations made to page number rendering for reporting components may result in the numbers wrapping if the component is too small. Slight size or page size adjustments may be required on smaller components for legacy reports.

#### Charting

**New Legend Position Options**

The **Legend Position** option for charts has now been expanded to include a number of new options to allow greater control over where the chart legend is displayed.

### Other CXAIR Enhancements

#### PDF Creation

The 3<sup>rd</sup> Party software used to create PDFs has been replaced by Google’s version of PDF creating software. These are are created in less time and are higher quality than the previous version.

#### Improved Subtotals Controls

It is now possible to specify which levels of a Crosstab display subtotals or not.

#### Amalgamated Index Joins

Joins created within an Amalgamated index can now be set for joining purposes only and not to add any fields into the index.

#### ETL Index Fields

Fields added to an ETL index can now inherit the display field name of the source index field if it has been changed.

#### CXAIR Remote Monitoring

Functionality has been added to allow a CXAIR instance to monitor the usage of other instances, such as a Development instance monitoring a Live instance.

It is possible to capture the disk space usage, CPU usage, Memory usage and any web certificate expiry dates. It will also provide alerts to an administrator when a specific threshold is breached.

#### Query Screen Search Functionality Enhancements

Additional query syntax has been added for use in query searches. It is now possible to compare fields using the following functionality:

| `>~=`    | Great Than or Equal To | `+FieldA>~=FieldB` |

### CXFORMS New Features

First released in 2016, CXFORMS introduced a brand-new data ingestion layer to the solution that encompassed a drag-and-drop form builder, form delivery mechanism and automated data capture.

Working alongside customers, the CXFORMS module has been further expanded to provide greater control over distribution through **Campaigns** and bespoke user access via new security features.

#### New Form Elements

**Table Control**

A new Table control has been added which allows combinations of other controls (Radio buttons, Drop lists, Text boxes, Date pickers etc) to be used in a single table:

A new signature control has been added to capture digital signatures:

#### Form Logic

New features have been added to allow embedded logic to be created within a form. The new logic functionality includes:

* Only display certain elements on a form when a particular answer is given to a previous question.
* Check values entered against lookups or other values in the form.
* Calculations based on values entered into the form.
* Validation of values entered into a form.

#### Form Alerting

Alerts can be built into forms to notify specified users under one or many of the following conditions:

* A form is completed by a certain user(s).
* Certain values are in the answers given.
* Values in a form have been changed.
* A form isn’t completed after a specified time period.
