More information can be found on the Oracle website: https:*~~*/*~~*/[www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/overview/faqs-jsp-136696.html](http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/overview/faqs-jsp-136696.html)* *A recommended alternative to Oracle's JDK is to use the 'Open Java Development Kit' General-Availability Release 17.0.2 or above, which is available from https:*~~*/*~~*/openjdk.java.net. This is fully compatible with CXAIR.* **Operating system:** Windows Server 64-bit or Linux 64-bit **Anti-virus software:** Exclude the live scanning of CXAIR folders for optimal performance ### Server Specification | Component | Minimum Server Specification | Recommended Server Specification | | ------------- | ---------------------------- | -------------------------------- | | **Processor** | 8 Cores @ 3Ghz or above | 12 Cores @ 3Ghz or above | | **Memory** | 16GB or above | 32GB or above | | **Storage**\* | 1TB Disk in RAID 10 or SSD | 2TB SSD | *Storage required is dependent on the volume of data that will be indexed by CXAIR. The sizing above is an example, and a more accurate sizing can be provided during implementation scoping if required.* ### Workstation Specification User workstations require a compatible web browser and a minimum resolution of 1280x1024 to access the solution. Compatible web browsers are: * Microsoft Internet Explorer 11\* * Mozilla Firefox * Google Chrome * Microsoft Edge Users must clear their browser cache prior to logging in. **The run-time zoom slider in Pages and CXFORMS is no longer supported in Internet Explorer as this browser cannot scale components simultaneously.** ## CXAIR New Features & Enhancements The CXAIR 2023.1 release continues the focus of improving functionality and user experience. ### ETL Package Wizard The new ETL Package Wizard removes the need for multiple separate indexes linked together to process data. For example, the following setup in 2020.2 would require 5 separate indexes created: !\[ETL Package Wizard setup]\(image:1663775965925-149.png||height="237" width="642") The ***Database index #1*** would be the source which feeds into the ***ETL #1***. Then ***ETL #1*** and ***Database index #2*** are joined in the ***Amalgamated index***, which then is the source for ***ETL #2.*** Now in CXAIR 2023.1, the ETL Package wizard will allow a single index to be created which would create the Database Index #1, ETL #1, Amalgamated Index and ETL #2 all in one setup. ### ETL indicator to show what functions are in use in each stage ETL stages now highlight the sections that have functions activated. An asterisk will be shown on a tab that has one or more functions set against a field. !\[ETL indicator]\(image:1663775988783-929.png||height="388" width="566") ### Indexing Enhancements - Incremental Index Updates CXAIR 2023 now has an option to allow Incremental indexes to update all records with calculated values, rather than just new records coming into the index. It will also allow Complete indexes to refresh when the data source connection is not available. ### Administration Enhancements #### Schedules System Diagram The schedules system diagram now uses an improved chart and layout for easier visualisation of schedules and any dependants. !\[Schedules system diagram]\(image:1663776022364-737.png||height="339" width="688") #### Cloud System Connectors A new menu has been added to allow connections into the following 3rd party cloud systems to be configured for retrieving data into CXAIR: * Azure Data Lake & cloud based DW * Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) * Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) * Google Drive * Google Drive Domain * Dropbox * Microsoft One Drive * Sharepoint * Samba #### Google BigQuery Database Driver A new database type has been added to allow connections to Google BigQuery. This appears when using a Database Data Source. #### Windows Certificate Stores can now be used Windows Certificate stores can now be used within CXAIR and enable an organisation to use centralised certificate management. #### Excel Lookup Data Source A new data source has been created that allows you to select specific cells or cell ranges from an Excel file, rather than indexing the entire spreadsheet. This can be useful for pulling out various key information regardless of the shape and contents of the data in the spreadsheet. #### AWS Simple Email Services Integration Added CXAIR now supports the use of AWS SES API endpoints for secure email distribution. #### Ability to 'Order' data written out to an index An option has been added into the index configuration (DSG setup) to allow a user to specify the order in which they would like the data written out into the index by selecting one or many fields. #### Security Option to Limit Email Recipients by Groups An option has been added to CXAIR which allows an administrator to set so that users are restricted to be able to only email or schedule reports to other users within the same group(s). ### Crosstab Enhancements #### New Cell Total Functions to Reference Specific Cells Cell Calculation functions now allow a user to specifically reference a value in a Crosstab by using the Row and Column name. For example: ``` Sum(rows('TOTAL BOOK BALANCE'),columns(April 2022),0) + Sum(rows('TOTAL BOOK BALANCE'),columns(May 2022),0) - Sum(rows('TOTAL LIABILITIES'),columns('PREVIOUS YEAR TOTAL'),0) ``` #### Find and Replace function for Calculations/totals A find and replace function has been added into the Totals menu of crosstabs which allows the updating of one or many selected totals without the need to open and edit each total individually. #### Ability to reference the Maximum or Minimum value from a total using a Cell Calculation. Two new functions have been added to find and reference the maximum or minimum value from other totals that exist on the same crosstab. ColumnMin() and ColumnMax() can be found in the Functions drop list in a Cell Calculation. #### Row Total Thresholds There is now the option to apply thresholds to individual row totals. #### Filtering within Hierarchy Groups Crosstabs now have the option to filter within Hierarchy groupings. So for example, this would allow the top ‘n’ products to be found within each branch. ### Pages Enhancements #### Ability to drill into another report from submitted button An option has been added to allow a user to drill into another report once a form has been submitted in a Page report. For example, the user could complete a satisfaction survey and then once submitted can be displayed a summary dashboard of submissions. #### New chart A new Radial Bar chart has been added to the chart library. !\[Radial Bar chart]\(image:1663776085365-800.png||height="251" width="301") #### Chart Enhancements * The Time chart now has an option to plot zeros. * The Donut charts now have options for text to e added in captions and values displayed. #### User warning if leaving an element before saving A check has now been added to display a warning if a Page element has not been saved and a user selects cancel. ### General New Features #### Report Viewers and Filters Report viewers can now be allowed to save their own personalised filters on a report. This is an administration function that can be enabled or disabled. #### New Drop List filter types and All option Two new drop list filter types have been added into CXAIR. * Drop List Nested allows a hierarchy to be configured and used for selecting values. * Drop-List (Select2) can be used to search through large lists of values before displaying the filtered list in the dropdown. #### Logic can be added to dynamic date saved query descriptions Descriptions within Saved Queries can be used to dynamically display specified dates, but this functionality has now been expanded to allow CASE or IF statements to select different dynamic dates depending on the condition. For example: ``` CASE WHEN CurrentMonth = 1 THEN FORMAT(LAST_DAY_OF_MONTH-1YEAR-1MONTH,'MMM YY') ELSE FORMAT(LAST_DAY_OF_MONTH-1MONTH,'MMM YY') END ``` ## CXFORMS New Features First released in 2016, CXFORMS introduced a brand-new data ingestion layer to the solution that encompassed a drag-and-drop form builder, form delivery mechanism and automated data capture. Working alongside customers, the CXFORMS module has been further expanded to provide a new powerful function to connect different forms and reports together within a “Work Queue”. ### Work Cues Work queues allow a CXFORMS developer to specify how forms submissions are handled, or the path a user goes through once the form is submitted. For example, a submission can be checked for certain values and then based on a specified condition a user can then be sent to a another form to complete, or presented with a report, PDF or pop up message. Values can be validated and then updated as part of some specified rules: !\[Work queues]\(image:1663772203843-377.png||height="357" width="646") ### Work Items Work Items are selected parts of a work queue which require a review from another user. For example, after customer has completed a form, it can be added to a users work queue to review and sign off as complete, before the record is written into the final index. ### New Form Controls Several new controls have been added for use in forms developments: * Time Control * Document Upload * Sliders * Popup Information * Grouped Buttons * It is also possible to now move multiple items concurrently when editing a form. !\[New form controls]\(image:1663772323206-827.png||height="695" width="340")
