# 04. Status Monitoring

The Status Monitoring screens provide an insightful overview of the system, broken down into a number of key areas.

The following options are available from the **Status** drop-down list, unless otherwise stated:

## User Sessions

The User Sessions screen displays details for all users currently logged into the solution. Use the search bar to filter the results.

Click the **X** icon in the **Remove** column to end a user session. The admin user cannot be removed.

## Report Status

This screen provides the system administrator with the ability to stop large reports that are currently running on the server, along with visibility over the user who ran the report.

Click the **X** icon in the **Remove** column to stop the report running.

## Process Status

The current status for each process can be viewed in the Process Status screen.

Each process has a unique identifier, displayed under the **Id** column. The **Node** column will display the cluster node details as set in the Processes screen, and the **Version** column will display the currently installed version of the solution. The date and time when the process was initialised is displayed under the **Booted** column and the **Status** column will detail whether the process is **Alive** or **Dead**. The **Time Stamp** column will update automatically, denoting the date and time of the latest processes activity.

When monitoring system load, the **Locks Held** list will denote the files that are currently in use and that cannot be read by any other concurrent processes. The **Notifications From** list will indicate any instances where attempted access to any locked files has occurred. Should an Index process require access to a locked file, it will fail.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If files are displayed under the **Locks Held** heading for an extended period of time, this indicates a communication failure between the Indexer process and the front-end of the solution.
{% endhint %}

Please refer to the \[Index Schedules]\(doc:Technical Documentation.CXAIR.Administration Guide.Status Monitoring.e. Index Schedules.WebHome) chapter for more detailed information regarding the effective scheduling of system tasks.

### Process Monitoring

Further Process Monitoring data is available in the Processes screen, where the cluster node entries used by the system are listed.

Click **Setup**, **System** then **Processes** to access the Processes screen.

The **Name**, **Server**, **Port** and **Context** columns contain the server details, while the **Status** column details whether the process is **Alive** or **Dead**. The **Indexer** column denotes the running status of the Indexer process as **Y** if running, or **N** if not. The configured **Maximum Concurrent Jobs** displays how many Index jobs can run simultaneously.

By clicking the **Edit** icon next to the relevant process, the textboxes at the top of the screen are populated with the process information. The **Name** and **Database URL** can be modified if there have been changes to the server details, and the **Maximum Concurrent Jobs** can be edited to control how many index jobs can run at once before other jobs are queued for completion.

## Licence

The Licence screen will display the currently installed licence features. Please refer to the \[Licencing]\(doc:Technical Documentation.CXAIR.Administration Guide.Installation.Licencing.WebHome) chapter for more information.

## Report Schedules

The Report Schedules screen provides an overview of all \[Report Schedules]\(doc:Technical Documentation.CXAIR.User Guide.3. Report Administration.WebHome||anchor="Scheduling") created on the system along with the ability to enable and disable individual entries.

Use the **Sort By** options to list the schedules accordingly and use the checkbox in the **Enabled** column to control which schedules will remain active.

## System Activity

The System Activity page displays the different processes, or ‘jobs’, that are active on the system, along with the time when they entered the particular stage.

Click **Refresh** to view an up-to-date view of the processes, or enable the **Auto Refresh** option to update the entries as they occur.

Processes listed under the **Running Jobs** heading are currently active, and those below the **Queued Jobs** heading are waiting for the current jobs to finish before starting. Please refer to the \[Process Monitoring]\(doc:||anchor="Process Monitoring") section to modify the maximum number of concurrent processes.

The **Complete Jobs** list displays completed processes for the current day while the Failed Jobs displays all jobs that could not be completed. The **Ready Jobs** list denotes processes that have yet to be allocated and queued.

## Report Usage

The Report Usage page provides the system administrator with an overview of saved queries, unused saved queries and duplicate reports. When a tab is selected, click **Save Report** to export the contents to a **CSV** file.

### Saved Query Usage

This tab displays which reports that use either saved queries or placeholder queries.

The name and location of the report and associated saved query are also detailed. Placeholder queries are not displayed with a name or location.

### Unused Saved Queries

This tab lists any saved queries that have not been added to a report along with a directory location.

### Duplicate Saved Reports

This tab displays any duplicate saved queries on the system. A query is classified using a unique identifier, not with the name given by the user.

## Index Usage

The Index Usage page displays a table with two columns. The **Index** column lists all currently configured Indexes on the system, and the **Referenced In** column denotes any Indexes where another Index is referenced.

For more detailed information concerning the structure of created Indexes, please refer to the \[System Diagram]\(doc:Technical Documentation.CXAIR.Administration Guide.Status Monitoring.b. System Diagram.WebHome) chapter.

## Generate Diagnostics

If any technical issues arise when using the solution, navigate to the Generate Diagnostics page and click **Download Diagnostics** to download a diagnostic file that can be sent to <support@connexica.com> to help identify any potential problems.

## Log Files

There are a number of ways to view the system logs created by the server. These files contain information that is used to diagnose potential errors.

Click **Status** then **Log Files** to access the system logs. The retention period for log files on the system is set in the \[System Settings]\(System Settings||anchor="Log Settings").

All previously created system logs are displayed below the **Log Files** heading.

Click **View Log** to open the log file in a browser popup window. Enable popups in the browser settings to ensure the log window is not blocked.

Click the **Download** icon to download the log file to the local machine, where a text editor can be used to access the content.

Click the **X** icon to delete the log file from the system. The most recent log files cannot be deleted.

Logs will stored on the system for the number of days specified in the \[System Settings]\(doc:Technical Documentation.CXAIR.Administration Guide.Status Monitoring.System Settings.WebHome||anchor="Log Settings") before being automatically deleted.
